Trout Release Day! It was fun to watch the excitement of each learner name & release their trout. We loved seeing leaders emerge in this project by problem solving any issues we encountered. We also enjoyed watching all learners care & check in on the trout everyday. Then -> now
Start with Hello Week at RHTA included buddy reading between the learners in grades 2 & 3 and those in grades 7 & 8. It was a beautiful day to find a spot in the sunshine (or the shade) and share a story.

7th grade has finished their first team project using the engineering design process. It was great to see the interest learners had as they continued their research at home. Congrats to the winning team whose design improvements increased their total from 160 β>288 pennies held!
What an amazing first day of school with the newest bunch of 7th graders! Part of their rotation today was the human knot challenge. We canβt wait to see all of the fun that the rest of the year has in store for us!!
A huge thank you to the @NRCSRangers' Ranger High-Tech Academy for the new rain barrel at our Main Library! After a year-long water systems and water conservation unit, the school received a grant for two. 1/2
We started our final positive contribution to our community, rain chains. Learners will take these rain chains & distribute them to help safely direct rain water to the appropriate drainage areas. We collaborated with @ArtRhta to hydrodip the cups, such a fun art technique!
Today, we visited Stone Lab, OSUβs island campus on Lake Erie. It was great to see learners able to experience their learning in real life. From invasive species to renewable energy sources to dissecting common food sources. It was a fun day & a day of many firsts for 7th grade!
As we work towards the end of our βHuman Impacts on the Environmentβ project, we are continuing to work towards making a positive impact in our community. Wednesday, we recovered 33 lbs of trash from Edgewater. Thank you 4th for joining us to make a difference, what a fun day!
Wow! Way to make RHTA proud today 4th grade and @RHTAStem7! We collected over 33 lbs of trash at our Edgewater beach clean-up! Thank you @DrinkLocalTap for a wonderful day of authentic learning, fun, and wavemaking! @OSLN@NRCSStem@NRCSRangers
Yesterday, learners completed water quality tests of the Rocky River. Testing for turbidity, pH, temperature, etc. This was to ensure that the release of the trout was in a safe location. Once approving this & tempering the water, the trout were released!
Congrats to our Amazing Shake Champions! Najha M (Nakon Foundation), Lydia S (@bekindland), Marissa F (North Pointe Ballet) and Jaina C (A Kid Again). Sponsors:@JohnPalcisko, Dr. Arndt, @utoledo & First Federal Lakewood. Big Frog of Avon @woblwdlw also made donations. Thank you!
Thank you @NASAHUNCH for joining us today to review students projects for the Critical Design Review! We are excited to see who will make it to the Final!
Today we visited the Wastewater Treatment Plant. Learners were able to see part of our modern water system & see water quality testing in a modern day career.
Pictured is photos from today, as well as learners completing water changes based on numbers from our water tests.
We are in the midst of our PBL: Human impacts on the environment & its freshwater systems. Today, research began on water contaminants & local pollution hotspots as we work on caring for our positive contribution back to the environment. Our first fry swam up today, ready to eat!
Congratulations to the January Board of Education students and staff members of the month! This group was recognized at tonight's meeting for being Ranger STRONG in all they do. πππͺ

The trout have arrived!! Super exciting day for the 7th graders. We love seeing all of their excitement and watching our leaders emerge during projects like this.
We started phase 1 of our Trout in the Classroom project.. cleaning & setting up the tank. The buzz of excitement has begun! We are excited to welcome our trout eggs soon. We will learn about human impacts & water quality while applying our skills of water testing & balancing pH.
Thank you again to In Education for joining us today! I can't wait to see how our learners are able to apply aspects of art and design to greek mythology characters. @NRCSStem
