Finland, as part of the European Union, has previously stated that Nicolás Maduro’s government lacks legitimacy. The EU has consistently supported the country’s peaceful, democratic development.

All states have a responsibility to respect and act in accordance with international law. This principle is a cornerstone of Finland’s foreign policy.

The Ministry for Foreign Affairs is closely monitoring developments in Venezuela in cooperation with partners and allies.

Canada is a key, arctic ally for Finland.

I had a call with PM @MarkJCarney. We talked about strengthening economic and security cooperation between our nations.

Together, we will continue steadfast support to Ukraine and work towards increasing pressure on Russia to achieve an unconditional, full ceasefire.
