Senator Ned Nwoko Applauds President Tinubu on Second Niger Bridge Access Road and Asaba-Benin Expressway Reconstruction

Abuja, Nigeria – Senator Ned Munir Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has expressed profound appreciation to President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for the official flag-off of the Second Niger Bridge access road construction and the reconstruction of the Asaba-Benin Expressway.

In a congratulatory message, Senator Nwoko emphasized the strategic importance of these projects to the South-South and South-East regions and to Nigeria as a whole. He lauded President Tinubu’s commitment to economic integration, national cohesion, and infrastructural renewal, stating that these projects will enhance connectivity, boost commercial activities, and ease transportation challenges in the region.

“The Asaba-Benin Expressway has been a major source of concern due to its dilapidated state, causing severe hardship for commuters and businesses. As a senator representing Delta North, I have persistently engaged the Federal Ministry of Works for urgent intervention. It is gratifying to see that our efforts, backed by your leadership’s responsiveness, have resulted in tangible progress with the project duly accommodated in the national budget,” Nwoko stated.

Highlighting the Senate’s role, he noted that under Senate President Godswill Akpabio, a resolution was passed mandating the rehabilitation of federal roads across Nigeria. As a member of the Senate Committee on Works, he reiterated the committee’s firm stance on prioritizing road reconstruction to stimulate economic activities, reduce accidents, and improve national transportation infrastructure.

Senator Nwoko also commended the Honourable Minister of Works, Sen. (Engr.) David Nweze Umahi, for his hands-on approach and commitment to delivering quality infrastructure across the country.

“This flag-off is not just a milestone but a collective triumph for our region,” he said. “I look forward to continued collaboration with the administration in advancing initiatives that will uplift our people and drive sustainable development.”

The senator reaffirmed his dedication to pushing for the speedy completion of these critical projects and ensuring that Delta North and the entire region fully benefit from federal infrastructural interventions.

BREAKING: Kaduna’s IGR Hits N14.16 Billion in Two Months

The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has reported an Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) of N14.16 billion for January and February 2025, showcasing the impact of Governor @UbaSaniUs’ tax reforms.

In a statement released on Friday, KADIRS dismissed claims of a revenue decline under the current administration, stating that Kaduna generated N62.48 billion in IGR in 2023 and N71 billion in 2024, maintaining its position as the highest revenue-generating state in northern Nigeria.
