@LeeRberger Have the researchers examined the pelvic bones of the remains found in the cave? Do the pelvises show signs of only fem origin: X-X ?
Is it possible that one's diet can affect the Y peptides in the enamel?
If the males chewed certain "male only plant" could that destroy peptides?
@LeeRberger@eLife By the way I was thinking about the "pits" in the dentition and have come to the conclusion that it may have been caused by cavitation while chewing a plant, like the one that is popular in Somalia: Khat (stimulant). Maybe modern day users show the same pitting on their molars?
@LeeRberger@eLife I thought about that -boys, male toddlers, etc- when I read the original post but I thought to myself " maybe there were Y chromosome children in the cave but they were not mentioned. I will read the research document. No baby males? That adds another level to the mystery.Genetic
@LeeRberger@eLife The Homo-Naledi males were hunters and sometimes they became hunted, killed, and dragged off to be eaten in a lair or under a tree. The males were the first line of defense just like in BC and AD Homo-Sapien culture, maybe that's why males were not found in R. Star cave complex..
@natashasnoww_ That's your problem not every problem has a solution.
But the guy hanging by his arms from a branch in a tree needs to yell out for a friend with a high powered rifle with ammunition to scare away or kill these animals that are trying to devour you, yes you.
