Today we welcomed our 10th–12th graders back to campus for Orientation! It was so great to see our halls filled with familiar faces, reconnecting with friends and getting ready for another amazing year at Saint Raphael Academy. We can’t wait to officially kick off the school year on Monday! Let’s go, Saints! 💜
Faculty are making final preparations to welcome back students who will soon be illuminating the halls, classrooms, and chapels of Rhode Island's 35 Catholic schools.

We renew Bishop Bruce Lewandowski's call to prayer and unity as the entire community grieves in the face of such senseless acts of violence.
"Let us unite in prayer for those who lost their lives, for the injured, for the Brown University community and all affected by this tragedy," said Bishop Lewandowski who, like many, was saddened and troubled by the tragedy that unfolded at Brown University.
"May God continue to guide our elected officials, law enforcement, and first responders as they work to keep everyone safe... May God bless us all and may Our Lady of Providence keep us in her care," Bishop Lewandowski added while promising the resources, clergy and personnel, and charitable assistance of the Diocese of Providence wherever it might be needed.
Bishop Lewandowski spent time with the students and community members at the Brown-RISD Catholic Community (@BrownRISDCC) on Sunday morning before Holy Mass, offering words of consolation, prayers, and a blessing.
The Festival of Lessons & Carols—a beautiful 19th-century tradition that weaves together Scripture, hymns, carols, and prayer to tell the story of salvation: the Fall, the promise of the Messiah, the Incarnation, and the Great Commission.
Chesterton Academy of Our Lady of Hope invites you to enter more deeply into the joyful anticipation of Christ’s coming!
All are welcome to share in this festive and prayerful evening.

Many of our diocesan priests have faithfully served Rhode Island for decades. The Senior Priest Retirement Collection (Sept. 20–21) helps ensure they are cared for in retirement. Please consider giving generously.

Annuntio vobis gaudium magnum; habemus papam!
"The spiritual leader of more than 1 billion Roman Catholics worldwide and considered by many to be the moral voice in every age, Pope Leo XIV has many titles but perhaps the most common one, the most simple one, and the most endearing one is Holy Father. Yes, Pope Leo XIV is to be a holy father, taking his mission from the very words of Jesus Himself to the first pope, Saint Peter: Feed my lambs; tend my sheep. Follow Me." —Monsignor Albert Kenney, Diocesan Administrator
"Let us join our voices to those of Catholics and People of Good Will around the globe in thanking God for the election of our Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV. Please continue to pray for a generous outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon him as he assumes his responsibilities as the Successor of St. Peter." —Most Rev. Bruce A. Lewandowski, Bishop-Designate of Providence
