Tracy Denard Haynes Jr., age 17, is the suspect in a mass shooting that occurred at Wilmer-Hutchins High School in Dallas, Texas, on Tuesday, April 15, 2025.

According to police reports and arrest affidavits, Haynes Jr. entered the school through an unsecured door with the assistance of another student. He then walked down a hallway, encountered a group of male students, and opened fire, injuring at least four students—three with non-life-threatening injuries and one in serious condition. Some reports mention a fifth student hospitalized for anxiety-related symptoms rather than gunsh@t wounds.

Haynes Jr. turned himself in to authorities later that day and is currently held in the Dallas County Jail on four counts of aggravated assault, each classified as a first-degree felony, with a total bond set at $600,000.
