A scientific institution conducting research to build capacity and stimulate agency for sustainable transitions in environmental and climate governance.
#RIST partners with #EPASL to train trainers from different sectors of the #GoSL in gathering, analyzing, and verifying greenhouse gas emissions data to develop official (and voluntary) inventories following the 2006 IPCC Guidelines for transparent climate reporting.
RIST supports #EPASL in the production and dissemination of educational and promotional materials on climate change and the updated Nationally Determined Contributions (NDC) to reinforce child-to-child peer learning across secondary schools in the country.
We are honoured to announce that #RIST's @Abu-BakarMassaquoi recently collaborated with the EPSP Unit in the #UNICEF SL Country Office and @EmilyBamford to produce the first Climate Landscape Analysis for Children (CLAC) in Sierra Leone. Kudos to everyone who helped the team!
As the #CPI estimates that #Africa needs $277bn to implement its #NDCs & meet 2030 climate goals, & as Sierra Leone still lags behind in mobilising #ClimateFinance, we have produced the country's first NDC Implementation & Financing Plan in collaboration with #EPASL and #UNDP.
To meet the objectives of the Global Framework for Climate Services, @RIST has developed a National Framework for Climate Services in collaboration with #ECOWAS and #SLMet. The strategy will guide the development and delivery of #ClimateServices across #SierraLeone.
