I agree gloves suck, but thinset grout everything to do with tiling is so destructive to your hands, even if you work clean, your skin will just peel off. The only gloves I've ever felt I had any feel or control is gorilla gloves they are all fabric, no rubber coating, and I wear latex underneath. Otherwise I probably would go no gloves as well.
