I hope you all know that the attacks by the left and right media are to make sure Graham Platner loses. They don’t care if he loses, but we have a lot to lose. People are losing their voting rights in the South, while women are dying preventable deaths in some states because Susan Collins voted to appoint Kavanaugh. Yall can’t let that continue
@SarahIronside6 the left voted for Biden and Harris and Obama. Ill give you Clinton, the left fucked up there, but in the decade since we have supported the establishment candidates (and did for the most part in the decade before that). Is that not compromise? We didnt sit out the election
@ElliscbIV maybe. Maybe not. he is holding firm in a lot of polling right around 49%, so thats unchanged. I think some of this is all the republicans who dont like Collins but were always going to vote for her in reality making their minds up
@SarahIronside6 the uncommitted movement was for the primary election not the general
im sorry if people online were mean to you about Harris but we can look at the voting data to see that left wing defection didnt cost Harris 2024
You dont want the left as allies. You want us compliant
@NilesGApol there isnt any consistent trend on what pre senate background makes a good senator. If anything, people with long backgrounds sometimes seem bogged down with all the things they dont think could be done
@SarahIronside6 I agree, I voted for Harris even though I thought she was a lousy candidate running a lousy campaign who was in effect backing a genocide, because I knew trump would be worse
its increasingly clear the coalition between the left and center of the party only goes one way
@SarahIronside6 Why do we always talk about the 828 israeli civilians killed on 10/7 and never the 3,000 palestinian civilians killed in the decade leading up to 10/7
why are you talking about Jill Stein? she didnt receive enough votes to have flipped a single state
@NilesGApol Even if Platner loses, he outperforms the other candidates running for the seat. If Mills suspended her campaign, her internals must have been much worse than this
@SarahIronside6 Resolving the situation permanently is complicated, if possible at all, but embargoing arms to Israel isnt complicated and is the only way to ger serious about peace. And doubly a no brainer during active fucking genocide
@SarahIronside6 Gazans are not blameless, they have engaged in terrorism, but this can all be traced to an original sin for the region, where a partition plan was made that gave the majority of the population a minority of the land and resulted in an immediate ethnic cleansing of arabs
@SarahIronside6 America does not have a right to exist.
Gaza doesnt have a right to exist, Gazans have a right to exist and self determine on the land they are indigenous to, rights that Israel and their western allies have been violating for 78 years.
@SarahIronside6 no nation has a right to exist. People have a right to exist and self determine, but not at the expense of other people's right to exist and self determine.
@SarahIronside6 Costello has been in the race longer than Platner and made so little impact Polls usually dont include him. Not exactly inspiring stuff for beating Collins
@SarahIronside6 Unless there is actual evidence that he was preying on women, thats a pretty bold statement to make about an App with 300 million registered users
centrist dems have such weird takes on their candidates. remembering people "picking apart" Kamala Harris's laugh (i wouldnt call her brilliant but thats neither here nor there) is missing the forest for the trees.
Harris was perceived as disingenuous and lacking conviction
As a woman it is devastating for me to watch a bunch of so called progressives forgive the most disgusting actions of a white male candidate after picking apart the laughter of a brilliant and qualified Black woman.
@SarahIronside6 I dont hate jews. I hate the USA's longstanding complicity in genocide against Gaza. I hate how Islamaphobic the median democrat still is (as we saw in the Mamdani-Cuomo election)
@SarahIronside6 I voted for Kamala Harris. I told others to vote for Harris. I set my virtues aside to vote for a reprehensible politician because they were the best viable alternative to trump
Are your feelings about Platner more important than getting rid of Susan Collins?
@SarahIronside6 I dont think most of us would do well if we were judged by the worst things we said online a decade+ ago
It was a bad comment. he agreed it was a bad comment and disavowed the statement. Bad comments online are insignificant compared to bad policy
