In baseball, there are only two real currencies:
At-bats & innings pitched.
Sit the bench your first 1-2 years and you burn currency you can never earn back.
Choose the school that puts that currency in YOUR pocket fastest.
Playing time > prestige. Every single time. ✌🏽
Get on the bump, throw 84 then ask coach how your hinge was lol.
Something has to change for something to change.
You can’t even comprehend what your max intent is because you’ve never given it.
As you go, you figure out how to get more out of yourself.

STUDENT-ATHLETES: Academic Warriors
Would you take a final test without ever studying the material?
No.
Would you try to throw the ball as hard as possible without doing anything else MAX intent?
You throw slow because you walk through life.
1/3
If you want to maximize the throw, you MUST go to the MAX.
In the gym you push heavy weight. Great. SLOW
At the field you “air it out” to 200 feet then lollygag* your sprints. SLOW
During offseason pens your priority is on mechanics. SLOW
You’re constantly moving slow.

The body follows the stimulus given to it.
Regressing in some aspect of performance?
Are you challenging that aspect and giving it the proper stimulus, even in season? If no, probably should.
Even micro dosing it will be better than nothing.
THAT PART!
You can’t know when your last season, game, practice or throw will be
I’ve had seasons end or get canceled for me on three occasions
Sometimes it blindsides you
Sometimes you can see it coming
Sometimes you can feel it coming
But you can’t always stop it
Have fun!
Don’t fixate so much on where you want to be in your playing career that you lose focus on where you’re at and who you’re with right now.
Everyone wants to advance their career, but we as players don’t have say in that.
Enjoy the ride today.
These could be the good ole days.
FISHMAN GOES LONG! 🐟 @20Trout
Jackson Trout launches a 2-run 💣 to left center for his 5th HR of the year! #Omaha now trails only 4-6 against ORU.

About to start my 5th year of affiliated baseball.
Spent 3 years in Indy ball. If I never got picked up in ‘21 that was going to be my last year of ball. Didn’t think I would ever get picked up.
You just never know what’s around the corner if you can keep a jersey on your back.
Please help support the mother of one of our Plainsmen alumni! She would love to spend as much time as possible with her twin grand babies ❤️⚾️

If I asked you to throw a ball as far as you could in an open field would you:
1) think about back leg depth, glove side, the angle of your trunk, and your arm action
2) think about moving forward as fast as you can, stopping yourself and just letting that thing eat
Just doing a back bridge probably isn’t enough for throwing at elite velocities.
The spine dynamically enters and exits elite ROM in three planes.
You sure your static mobility is transferring over? It probably isn’t.
