I would rather stop in Europe for the night and take the next evening flight onwards to my destination. It costs about 250 more for a couple as airport hotels are cheaper and the city bus is free!

For longer ones like the 12-14 hour routes, premium economy is good, but even better is to pay just 120-130 more and get the exit row! This way you save a lot over PE and can stand at will even with a window seat.
