Most CKD patients die from CV disease. NIDDK says NHLBI must fund anything with CV endpoint. NHLBI won’t fund HD studies ergo there is no funding source for CV trials in ESKD. Catch 22! How do we move the needle and get NIH to fund research on a fundamental threat to our pts?
