[International Rescue Committee - EU @RESCUE_EU]

Our new analysis - by 17 NGOs - highlights the stark disparity between the number of asylum claims being submitted in different EU countries.

We warn the EU Pact could fail to meet its goals unless states better share responsibility:

The resettlement schemes are inaccessible, and they’ve left many eligible Afghans and their families in vulnerable situations.

We’ll continue to call on the government to address the recommendations outlined in our report, and fulfil their promises to Afghans.

Last week, Baroness Goudie mentioned the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative (APBI) in the parliamentary questions. APBI is a joint project we deliver with Safe Passage and our law firm partners.

[Refugee Legal Support (RLS)🧡 @RLSAthens]

We’re pleased that the government has acknowledged our report and expressed their determination to help Afghans seeking safety.

However, Lord Hanson’s response fails to address any of our urgent or scheme-specific recommendations.

[ARCHIVED: Mobile Info Team @mobileinfoteam]

With @RLSAthens and @EqualRightsBB we have documented violations in similar facilities on the mainland, includ. inadequate vulnerability assessments, limited access to support services, and poor accommodation facilities. 👇

Today, we’ve published the latest edition of our Afghan Relocations and Assistance Policy (ARAP) Self-Help Guide!

This guide has been developed as part of the Afghan Pro Bono Initiative (APBI), which RLS delivers in partnership with Safe Passage and our law firm partners.

[Refugee Legal Support (RLS)🧡 @RLSAthens]

It builds on feedback from Afghan community members who reviewed the first edition in February 2023.

It’s a comprehensive toolkit designed to support eligible Afghans to apply for resettlement under the ARAP scheme, or seek review for their refused application under the scheme.

Today, we’re launching our new Winter appeal.

For many, December is a time of joy and celebration with loved ones. But for many, it’s a reminder of those who are missing.

https://t.co/A9BpbrCbYu

[Refugee Legal Support (RLS)🧡 @RLSAthens]

However, thanks to the chaos of fleeing home and inhumane legal systems, many are left alone, with loved ones stuck in danger, thousands of miles away.

Legal support is often the only way to reunite families, and help people on the move start rebuilding their lives.
