Today, along with the @MBGov, we signed a memorandum of understanding commencing negotiations to transfer approximately 100 acres of Manitoba Crown Land to the MMF, where the #RedRiverMétis community of Ste. Madeleine once stood. Visit https://t.co/vNV1gqT5Tn to read more.
That's a wrap on this year's Ste. Madeleine Heritage Local Métis Days! Thank you to all the #RedRiverMétis Citizens who travelled across the Homeland to reflect and honour this part of our history. We look forward to seeing you all again next year! 👋 #RedRiverMétisGovernment
On this day in history 139 years ago, the #RedRiverMétis fought the first day of what became known as the Battle of Batoche. During the four-day battle, the #RedRiverMétis fought to defend our way of life. #RedRiverMétisGovernment
It was certainly different celebrating Landon's birthday without Papa here this year. He is with you always Landon, Ryaln and Nathan. He and Mama are your guardian angels and will always protect you.
We started our campaign believing in you – the people of Manitoba.
And in return, so many of you put your faith in us. You came out to support us – some for the very first time. You made calls & knocked doors. You voted.
From the bottom of my heart – Thank you. Merci. Miigwech.
Manitoba – thank you so much for this honour.
Our team will give everything we have for the next four years to serve you, the people of this province.
Tomorrow, the work begins to make life better. I know we can do it. Because together, we’re capable of great things.
All of Canada needs to stop what they are doing, spare a thought for the child whose jawbone was found on the grounds of the Qu’Appelle Indian Residential School in Lebret, Saskatchewan. Bone is about 125 years old, Sask coroner says. Child was btwn 4 to 6 years. @fsinations
On behalf of the FSIN, we would like to express our sincere condolences and solidarity to the James Smith Cree Nation on this solemn anniversary. We send our love and respect to James Smith Cree Nation on this day.
Love one another. That was what my mother always said to us growing up. She told us that over and over until we started to understand what it meant. We are all related, one species and uniquely different too. Of other nations and cultures. What should bring us together at every turn is the fact that have hearts, have spirit. We are meant to be loving and compassionate, not hurting and hurt. I say 'walk gently' because we walk into other's worlds all day, other life, other humans, other beings. Our energy matters. Our hearts produce 60 times the electrical field of energy than our brain. That alone should speak volumes about what and who we are. So, walk gently, always. Rest well and smudge my relatives. Let this day go, but hang onto the good. Tapwe 🪶💕🌎
