"Hi @bethesda & @Fallout , I’m Remnant (aka RMNT1984). I’ve been playing Fallout 4 for many years with 473.5 hours, 50/84 achievements, and I play as Brotherhood of Steel. I’d love to open a dialogue with you—whether to help improve the game, beta test, or perhaps even be part of the development team if you’d like!"
- One improvement I’d suggest for Fallout 5: enhance the artificial intelligence of both enemies and companions. Smarter enemies would make combat more challenging and dynamic, while companions with improved decision-making would feel like real allies, adapting to the player's actions and the world around them.
- Another thing I'd want for Fallout 5: when we open the Pip-Boy, time shouldn’t freeze. The game world should continue running, adding tension and realism—no more pausing mid-battle to snack on 20 items or strategize in total safety : This would be especially nice when using the Brotherhood of Steel’s Vertibird. Right now, opening the Pip-Boy pauses time, which makes long travel segments feel slower. If time kept running, those lengthy flights would feel quicker, and managing gear or maps would feel more natural.
- For settlements, I’d like more building options. If possible, add more construction elements to let us truly create unique, detailed settlements.
- It would be great if, at launch, we had the option to buy the game with all DLC upfront—maybe through a promotional offer. Instead of paying for each DLC bit by bit and ending up spending something like 100 euros, we could have a full package deal at, say, 60 euros from the start.
- It would be great if factions recognized us based on the clothes or Power Armor colors we wear. For example, if I show up at the Railroad in full Brotherhood of Steel gear, they might refuse me outright—or even, depending on my dialogue options and charisma, take hostile action.
- I’d love for us to have the option to smoke either hand-rolled or industrial cigarettes. If needed, bump the game to 18+ or even 21+—but give us that immersive, gritty detail : NPCs can do it, so why not us? It could even give a small boost—maybe to adrenaline or perception.
- I’d love if we could build coffee makers and brew coffee—pairing it with a cigarette. This could give an extraordinary boost to concentration, maybe perception, or even luck—improving crafting, whether it’s weapons, armor, or chems.
- I’d like Survival Mode to be available right at launch, not weeks or months later. Let us dive into the challenge from day one.
- I’d love to see a co-op option. Imagine replacing AI companions like Piper or Ada with a real friend. We’d chat on Discord or through an in-game voice channel, and that friend would replace the companion, playing alongside me. We could tackle the whole Survival Mode together—making the wasteland a shared adventure.
- I’d like to suggest adding the ability to grow marijuana in Fallout. After tough missions, it could offer a way to relax. I understand this is sensitive, but it could simply be age-gated—making the game 18+ or 21+, depending on regions. It's a way to deepen immersion and offer players choices for unwinding after the wasteland’s hardships : We could grow hemp as a crafting resource—for instance, to produce clothing or gear. This would offer another layer of crafting, keeping it tied to utility—like fabricating outfits from the wasteland.
- We could deepen relationships with AI companions, allowing for meaningful bonds. For those who want added realism, it could be possible to toggle on or off romantic scenes—including intimacy—based on player preference.
- For Fallout 5, there could be a multiplayer mode like Fallout 76—but without it being a complete disaster like Fallout 76. Sorry to criticize, Bethesda, but it simply wasn’t up to par. Even now, charging for over 1000 storage slots just to play properly is unacceptable. Please, with your marketing and finance teams, find ways to monetize without strong-arming the player. Sorry for the tone, but it needed to be said.
- Multiplayer content could be roguelike, with procedurally generated dungeons or areas—so it’s never the same experience. The world could evolve with seasons—winter, spring, autumn—and maps could vary, from Appalachia to the Rocky Mountains, Great Plains, or even internationally—Europe, Russia, Asia, Africa, or Latin America. Let’s explore different environments, not just the same landscape every time.
- It wouldn’t be a problem if the game took 300, 400, or even 500 GB. Sure, it might fill a standard hard drive, but it would be worth it. Don’t hesitate to make a large game—if it’s truly fun, you’ll see the sales reflect it. No doubt about that!
- What would be great is having more dialogue options—like in Starfield. Not just the sarcastic, good guy, or bad guy lines, but more personality depth. That would be really cool : To add to that, it would be great to have a reputation bar for each faction—and personal karma, just like in older Fallout games (if I recall correctly). That would add depth to every action.
- Thank you for reading this post, Bethesda. I also thank your marketing teams and X (Twitter) community managers for taking the time. If more ideas come to mind, I’ll comment under this post.
Best regards, RMNT1984.
