@x2c_world@sarahknapton@lbrewer190 Doctors and firefighters should be paid more. We campaign alongside both to achieve that.
But why would you think the social media admin drives trains?
@Geraldi31348001 Public support is fantastic, it helped us keep railway ticket offices open for the benefit of all of us.
Sometimes though you have to do what’s right, not what’s popular.
Cleaners on Southeastern Trains are stuck on low pay, no sick pay and no decent pension, simply because they're outsourced. Sign the @RMTunion's petition to bring these workers in house https://t.co/nIi0Olgr0F via @megaphoneuk
@Steven1897001@NSSN_AntiCuts@RMTLondon Yes, it’s something we’ve long campaigned for. I believe the Mayor supports this so we need to make sure it happens.
@Geraldi31348001 The only voice a worker has is to withhold their labour.
We apologise for the inconvenience, but the point of withdrawing your labour is to be disruptive.
It’s what has brought us every right we have.
BREAKING: Railways Bill Commons debate and Third Reading have been rescheduled for Wednesday 10th June.
This is the last chance to amend the Bill before it goes to the Lords. Please help by asking your MP to support passenger rights and public interest:
This is a drivers dispute; if anybody other than drivers took part it could be classed as secondary action which is unlawful under Section 224 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992.
Also, passengers could still get fined for not having a valid ticket.
@JKPlanner No. During the pandemic our members went three years without a pay rise because they were mindful of the extra burden on the taxpayer.
If, however, a company says it can’t afford a raise but pays millions of pounds in dividends to shareholders then we’d likely ballot members.
Outsourcing is a racket.
Outsourced workers across Britain are facing low pay, insecurity and impossible working conditions — while private companies profit.
Please watch and share and help us #EndRailOutsourcing#SafeAndSustainableRail
@JKPlanner RPI is the basis for a negotiation. If prices are rising, and they always do, I’ve never known deflation, then those price rises (for goods or services) are indicative of higher revenue.
That is not indicative of greater profit, which is why it’s a negotiation not a given.
@markwolfy@Keir_Starmer We don’t fund the Labour Party.
We haven’t demanded better hours, our members are in favour of retaining their current rosters.
If our previous strike action was unlawful, it would have been challenged in the courts.
