Colorado’s Medicaid program (Health First Colorado) covers gender-affirming care services, including surgeries like breast augmentation

This was recently changed under their Democrat Governor

In 2025, Colorado passed HB 25-1309 signed by Gov. Jared Polis. This codified and expanded insurance protections for gender-affirming care across plans, including hormone therapy, breast augmentation, facial surgery, and more

It even prevents insurers from denying what transgenders consider medically necessary care. Private insurance plans in the state must also cover these services under essential health benefits rules

15-year-old Frances Staudt showed up for a junior varsity girls’ basketball game at Tumwater High School in Washington state on February 6, 2025 — one day after President Trump signed an executive order protecting women’s sports. What she saw during warm-ups was exactly what every sane person already knows: an 18-year-old biological male named Andi Rooks from Shelton High School was suiting up to play on the girls’ team.

Frances refused to play. She told school officials there was a boy on the opposing team and sat out the game for her own safety and fairness. After the game, in pure frustration, she looked at the male player and said what anyone with eyes could see: “You’re a man.”

That’s when the Tumwater School District and the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association showed their true colors. Instead of protecting the actual 15-year-old girls, they launched a full investigation into Frances. They charged her with bullying, harassment, intimidation, and the ultimate thought crime — “misgendering” the biological male. The school principal and athletic director had already known Rooks was male and let him play anyway, citing state “gender identity” rules that override basic biology, safety, and Title IX.

Frances wasn’t the only one. Another Tumwater girl sat out too. But the system came down hardest on the one who dared speak the truth out loud.

The Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism stepped in and filed a federal civil rights complaint with the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights. They accused the district of sex discrimination against female athletes and retaliation against Frances for protected speech. By March 2025, the Trump administration’s DOE opened a formal Title IX investigation into Tumwater — because letting grown males dominate girls’ sports and punishing the girls who complain is exactly the kind of nonsense federal law was meant to stop.

Fast forward to April 2, 2026. Frances, now 16, along with another affected athlete Ahnaleigh Wilson and their parents, finally got a face-to-face meeting with Washington State Superintendent of Public Instruction Chris Reykdal — the same guy who had publicly defended the policy and criticized the girls. Frances confronted him directly about calling her statement “derogatory language.” Reykdal hemmed and hawed, saying the district would follow federal court rulings if they come down against males in girls’ sports, but he still wouldn’t admit the obvious: this is cheating, it’s dangerous, and it’s destroying opportunities for real female athletes.

This is the left’s war on women and girls in action. A teenage girl gets hauled in front of administrators, slapped with ethics violations, and investigated for “harassment” simply for refusing to risk injury against a bigger, stronger male and for stating basic biological reality. Meanwhile, the male gets protected, celebrated, and handed every advantage. The school knew exactly what they were doing and chose ideology over the safety and fairness of the girls on their own team.

What exactly are you hiding, Tumwater schools and Washington education officials? Why punish the 15-year-old girl trying to protect herself instead of the grown man invading girls’ sports?

This is the leftist playbook every single time: scream “inclusion” while real teenage girls pay the price in lost scholarships, broken bones, and stolen dreams. Punish the victim, protect the predator in a skirt, and call it compassion.

Rules for thee, but not for me — classic leftist playbook when biology gets in the way of their insanity.
