Five Questions to CM Sri @siddaramaiah on the #DharmasthalaCase.

1. On the SIT

The allegations of an unnamed masked man were absurd on the face of it - yet your government treated them as gospel, ignoring contrary advice from a few senior police officials to at least hold a preliminary inquiry before constituting an SIT. Did you fail to see they were baseless, or were you complicit in a larger conspiracy? Would you have shown the same enthusiasm and urgency in constituting an SIT, if the allegations were made against a non-Hindu religious institution?

2. On Delhi’s Role

We are told the SIT was formed only after “instructions” from Delhi. Who pressured you and your government? Will you name those in Delhi who dictated this move, or keep hiding their role?

3. On Funding and Handlers

YouTube channels, hostile portals, even the BBC ran a coordinated fake news campaign. Senior lawyers, who charge lakhs per hearing were engaged to appear for a so-called sanitation worker. Clearly, money and handlers were involved. Who funded this drama, who wrote the script and why has your government not probed them?

4. On a CBI Probe

It is clear that this conspiracy involves actors beyond the jurisdiction of Karnataka. And moreover, the SIT that was constituted as a result of this conspiracy, can’t be now tasked to expose the conspirators.

If your conscience is clear, why not hand this case to the CBI? Will you show the same urgency for a fair investigation as you did in hurriedly constituting the SIT - or is your government afraid of what a CBI probe will reveal?

5. On the Larger Agenda

Your government has pushed divisive legislations - purportedly on “fake news”, an “anti-communal task force” in coastal Karnataka, and the Rohith Vemula Bill to pit one Hindu against another, specifically at @RahulGandhi’s instance.

Isn’t the Dharmasthala controversy part of this broader agenda to weaken Sanatana Dharma and divide Hindu society? Does this defame Dharmasthala campaign have Rahul Gandhi’s blessings?
