More good news about AMC’s business prospects.
This new rating of our debt by the prominent ratings agency Fitch meshes with that of Standard & Poor‘s, which upgraded AMC’s debt in July.
“RATING ACTION COMMENTARY:
Fitch Assigns AMC Entertainment First-Time 'B-' IDR; Outlook Positive
The rating reflects AMC's leading market position, broad theater footprint, and strong exposure to premium formats, which support attendance, pricing, and operating leverage as the box office recovers. The rating is constrained by negative FCF and a complex capital structure relative to peers.
The Positive Outlook reflects Fitch's expectation for continued box office recovery, with performance approaching pre-pandemic levels and AMC's ability to monetize attendance through pricing and concessions, supporting revenue growth and margin expansion.”

Experts moronically predicting movie theatres were dead?
What a total crock of - - - - !
In 2020, Nike's CEO cut off hundreds of the stores that sold its shoes. Selling direct earned 50% margins instead of the 35% wholesale paid, and the spreadsheet said the retailers needed Nike more than Nike needed them.
The stores still had shelves to fill.
They filled them with On and Hoka. Two running brands doing a combined $682M when Nike walked away. By 2025 they were doing $3.2B, built largely on retail space Nike vacated on purpose. Even Roger Federer, a Nike athlete for two decades, ended up part-owning On.
The margin math was right. Direct sales really do earn more per shoe. But shelves do a job margins can't measure. In 2017, Nike was 75% of Foot Locker's revenue. Once the swoosh came off that wall, a generation of runners met their first shoe from a Swiss startup instead.
Nike has spent two years under Elliott Hill paying to win back the exact shelf space it abandoned. Wholesale in North America is growing again. The stock is still at $38, down from $179, with $230 billion in market value gone.
Nike traded 15 points of margin for $230 billion.
