Ending my week of annual leave with a 10km snowy canal towpath walk this morning and baking hot cross buns this afternoon! Time for a cup of a tea and warm bun with lashings of butter!π€€ #nurselife#nurseoffduty
As part of the @birminghamalum community and previous @UniBham_Nursing student, I had the opportunity today to represent the Guild of Graduates and be part of the procession for an afternoon of graduation celebrations. It was such a lovely day! #uobalumni#uobgraduation
I went cold turkey on my crutches this morning and took the plunge for a walk with Dad! My first crutchless walk in over 10 weeks!πΆββοΈ Just over 4km with a little iced tea stop half way - it had to be done. I'll be back to @nicuBWC in no time!π
Enjoying the weather and soaking up some vitamin D! (Yes, I used a black serviette to protect my new scar π) Now I have the reverse of a sock tan line with some colour to my foot and lower shin whilst the rest of my leg remains white π³π¦΅

Thinking of the families, and their babies born too soon, that I am fortunate enough to look after π

Today is #WorldPrematurityDay.
I want to thank every nurse, doctor and midwife working tirelessly in neonatal care to help babies and families through the often difficult first days of life.
It's #WorldPrematurityDay.
About 8 out of 100 babies will be born prematurely. Here we share information on premature labour and birth, and what you might expect if it happens. β¬οΈ https://t.co/2Yk5s5qnLM
Night shifts and a heat wave are not a pleasant combination. 3rd night tonight and total hours slept across this block of shifts is still in single figures! I'm shattered π₯΅π΄
365 days ago I put on my blue uniform for my first shift as a @nicuBWC nurse and it still feels like it was yesterday! I've gained confidence and lots of skills - it's nice to think back to where I was a year ago and see how far I've progressed!
Fancy treating yourself, a friend or a family member to a new uniform bag, shopping bag or just anything bag? Please look at my long-awaited Etsy page for some of my hand embroidered pieces (or a custom option if you have something else in mind)! https://t.co/JzTjAoznZa
After finishing 8 shifts in 11 days (which was exhausting) I used this week of annual leave so efficiently, I planned the perfect mix of rest and social events. I met up with friends I hadn't seen for 12+ months and have laughed so much throughout! Back to work Monday night π
