On my 2nd to last shift, my manager gave me a write-up.
Why? Because a bed was broken.. and it's my responsibility as ANM to "ensure all equipment is functioning properly".. nevermind the fact that I put in a work order & requested a new bed as soon as we realized it was broken.

My manager is so petty that I'm half expecting her to fire me on my last shift (this Saturday).

My hospital: brags about being the top hospital in the state and one of the top hospitals in the US.

Also my hospital: critical nursing shortage because no one wants to work for them.

Don't get me wrong - I'm a Christian too: I believe in Jesus / go to church and all that.
But faith-based organizations can be some of the worst examples of Christianity today.

This job has also made me hate Christians/ Christian organizations too. The things this place does "in the name of Jesus" is appalling.

I LITERALLY SAID I KNOW THAT BUT I NEED MEDICAL CLEARANCE T0 COME BACK TO WORK.
But you can also believe that if I didn't get return to work clearance, that'd be a problem. Damned if I do, damned if I dont. There's no winning here.

Idk why my manager only half-reads my emails.
Sent her my return to work clearance (because policy is that if you called out for 3 shifts due to medical reasons, you need a doctor to clear you to return to work).

In my email I literally say "I know you won't accept this to excuse my call outs, but here is my clearance to return to work with no restrictions". Why TF did she reply with "I can't accept this to excuse your call outs".

So you mean to tell me that if my doctor literally says "dont go to work, you have a medical reason to stay home and not take care of patients", that is not enough reason to have an excused absence from work?? #wtf #Healthcare

I have no idea why management is able to make ridiculous new rules and somehow be within policy. New rule is that doctors notes are no longer accepted as work excuses (if you called out of work)...

Just resigned from my job as an Assistant Nurse Manager. The instant relief I feel is amazing.
I'll spill some of the work drama and some of the straight up bullshit that made me leave my job of the last 5+ years soon...

Lolll. My hospital is falling apart. Been having internet issues off and on for weeks. Our computers and phones just stop connecting to anything sometimes. So last night most of the hospitals phones weren't working... then the tube stations all went down...

She was actually serious.. and kept saying it.. SHE ACTUALLY BELIEVED THAT THE ONLY PEOPLE WHO WORK HOLIDAYS IN A FREAKING #HOSPITAL SHOULD BE PEOPLE WHO DO NOT HAVE KIDS.

Had a #PCT start a but before the holidays.. when we sat down to go over the holidays, she looks at me and says "well I have a child and I don't think I should have to work any holidays because of that" I kind if chuckled and says "nice try" and she just kept staring at me...

I've got an #LPN on my floor. She's pretty active on #Instagram. She's on LOA right now...posting all about "oh work be crazy" and memes about having to work up the motivation to come to work on summer nights. Like do you realize you haven't actually worked for 18+ weeks??

It's entertaining being an #AssistantNurseManager sometimes... I'm close with my floor nurses (and still work the floor sometimes) but I also see a lot of the management side too.. some of the shit my staff does is insane 🤣🤣
