@SarahScheid7@EndFamilyFire@NRA Enjoyed researching our gun violence topic this semester. Appropriate storage is a vital piece to prevention and does not negatively impact either side of this issue! #nurs638
@NurseTerrieC @NationalREACH@TPPatriots Reducing health disparities takes a village but hoping we are starting to build that bridge! Bill HR 7585 is a great segway to reducing this gap! #nurs638
Gun violence continues to impact public health. With sensible gun control laws and education, gun violence rates will lower while still acknowledging the 2nd amendment. Let’s work together to reduce unnecessary violence. #nurs638@bradybuzz@NRA
@abbymwalsh1 Agree - sad yet perceptive! Lack of education and logistics impact certain populations. The need for boosting knowledge, opening the line of communication, and strategic placement of clinics/pharmacies are crucial! #nurs638
My favorite assigned reading from the course was by Meghani et al. It saddened me to learn about pain treatment disparities in vulnerable populations in the US. National legislative initiatives in eliminating inequities in pain care should be made a priority. #nurs638
Getting Wrecked provides insight into the unsettling treatment of women and addiction. The harsh reality of the recovery process and my recent REVIVE! training gives me a deeper appreciation for those impacted by opioids.

#nurs638 provided various resources to balance health policy and legislative approaches. Learning these processes gave clarity to the development of health policies. I will continue to use this platform for nursing and health-related issues.
@ASAging Let's concur the lack of healthcare for the aging society in rural areas! How can we, together, make a difference in their lives, such as signing up for Medicare, lower prescription costs and better access. What can I do as a nurse in my community? #NURS638
@RobWittman I see where the Doctor's of Communities Act was presented to the House of Representatives in June 2021. Can you update me on this bill? It was to amend the Public Health Service Act to reauthorize funding for medical programs.#nurs638
With a gap in training medical students on risk assessment and firearm education, we need to support this discussion and implement training. More education = more knowledge and awareness and less mental health stigma @national_rifle@bradybuzz#nurs638
@GovernorVA This is a great opportunity for job prospects and state-based medication development to help lower prescription drug costs. Both apply to social determinants of health! #nurs638 https://t.co/ez1dfdrTiI
