The other night I was fortunate enough to find my first Wood Frogs. While common in the Northeastern US, these are quite a rare frog in GA! In fact, after seeing these lovely individuals I only have one native species of frog left to see in GA!

Today was a busy one for wildlife rescues and the last call of the day (I hope) turned out to be especially unusual. We had a report of an injured hawk in a field, but it turned out to be a Peregrine falcon (Falco peregrinus), a raptor rarely seen in South Georgia.

I flipped these two little gems in my yard yesterday. Northern Scarlet Snakes are generally a very uncommon snake in North Georgia, but this time of year they can be found under cover after rain in the appropriate microhabitats. Usually sandy soil with an abundance of lizards.
