#AngelStudios’s biblical animation #TheKingOfKings will crush industry’s projections & could even challenge #TheWildRobot as biggest opening for a theatrically original animation Post-Covid at US #BoxOffice, after grossing 2M on THU Previews (vs #TheWildRobot’s 2M, #Wish’s SAT+TUE 2.3M, #Encanto’s 1.5M, #Elemental’s 2.4M)

In a normal environment, A 30M-35M 3-day opening weekend could be in the cards, but a front-loading effect generated by the pay it forward program could play here and hold it lower.

Regardless, with pre-sales already crossing 15M, the film will become the biggest opening ever for a biblical animation, beating the 27 year long lasting record established by #ThePrinceOfEgypt’s 14.5M 3-day debut all the way back in 1998.

After WB’s #AMinecraftMovie kicking off APR in a big way, #AngelStudios’ first animated release #TheKingOfKings poised to explode this weekend, as the animation hits almost 8M in pre-sales alone, what technically puts it on track to beat #ThePrinceOfEgypt’s 14.5M 3-day opening weekend as the biggest ever for a biblical animation in the U.S.
There is even a shot at beating #SoundOfFreedom’s 19.7M as #AngelStudios’s biggest 3-day weekend ever in the U.S.
And if WOM is positive, it could stay strong through and gain renewed momentum on the following Easter long holiday weekend.

A Minecraft Movie set records and made this the highest grossing weekend for AMC so far in 2025.

This weekend's impressive box office result makes two things very clear.

First, as we've been saying for many months, after an expected slow start to the box office in 2025, the rest of the year looks to be much stronger. We expect to see one movie title after another in rapid succession bringing moviegoers into our theatres in droves.

And second, the over-indexing of attendance in the Premium Large Format auditoriums of our theatres demonstrates that our guests have a keen preference for premium experiences.

This is further confirmation that there is significant opportunity for AMC to grow revenues and enhance guest satisfaction through our Go Plan, by our investing in the expansion of PLF offerings at AMC Theatres and ODEON Cinemas.
