🇪🇺🇺🇸 EUROPE IS NOT SURRENDERING TO US TECH BLACKMAIL
The European Commission has confirmed that Europe’s digital taxes will continue despite Trump’s threats of new sanctions and 100% tariffs.
This is the correct position, but Europe must learn the lesson: the US protects its giants aggressively, both at home and abroad.
Washington funds around 41% of US basic research.
The US invests around 3.4% of GDP in R&D. The EU invests only 2.24%.
The idea that corporate dominance comes only from the free market is a myth.
Europe must defend its companies inside Europe and abroad, expand public R&D, and support its strategic sectors at the same scale as its competitors.

The courage of Ukraine's armed forces has shifted the momentum on the battlefield.
The tide is turning.
And the resolve of the Ukrainian people has shown to the world that their European choice cannot be broken.

Europe may be moving faster than its own pessimists think.
A new assessment says around 30% of Draghi’s competitiveness agenda has already been implemented, with much more potentially coming by 2027.
That matters.
Because the debate is shifting.
From diagnosis to execution.
From reports to machinery.
From “Europe should” to “Europe is starting to”.
But the real test is still ahead.
The easy reforms are simplification, coordination and funding tools.
The hard reforms are capital markets, energy interconnections, defence procurement, telecom scale and national vetoes.
Europe is not inactive.
It is bureaucratically mobilising.
Now comes the question that decides everything:
Can Europe implement the parts that require member states to give up control?

🇺🇸🇮🇹Donald Trump attacks Giorgia Meloni — and she delivers a fiery speech he’ll never forget.
Donald Trump thought he could easily score political points by calling Giorgia Meloni “an insult to Jesus,” accusing her of “not being woke,” and claiming that God does not discriminate. Unfortunately for “Don Dementia,” this time he picked the wrong target.
Standing at a historic location, Giorgia Meloni didn’t just respond — she delivered a full moral reckoning.
“The President of the United States just said that I insult Jesus,” Giorgia Meloni declared. “Do you want to know what really insults Jesus? Taking healthcare away from the sick while cutting taxes for billionaires.”
And that was only the beginning.
“Do you want to know what else insults Jesus?” she continued. “Deporting foreigners and separating children from their mothers.”
Then she went even further, touching on war, corruption, and hypocrisy.
“Do you want to know what insults Jesus? Bombing innocent schools in Iran and sending our brave men and women to die in yet another endless war… hiding the Epstein files and then refusing to prosecute anyone involved.”
This wasn’t politics as usual. It was a full moral indictment.
Giorgia Meloni, targeted by Trump for supporting transgender people and for saying that “trans children are children of God,” completely turned the tables. Instead of backing down, she grounded her message in the very teachings Trump tried to weaponize.
“I am not a perfect Christian,” she said. “There was only one perfect man, and two thousand years ago he was crucified.”
Then came the line that hit the hardest:
“Jesus told us to love our neighbor as ourselves… Can we imagine war in heaven? Can we imagine hatred in heaven? Can we imagine poverty in heaven? Then why do we tolerate these things on Earth?”
This is how you respond. Not with insults. Not with fear. But with clarity and conviction.
Trump tried to discredit her. Instead, Giorgia Meloni delivered a sermon that now echoes far beyond that hall.
Please share Giorgia Meloni’s inspiring words.
Mistral CEO Arthur Mensch walked into the French parliament this week and told lawmakers Europe has exactly two years to build independent AI infrastructure or hand over one trillion dollars in spending to American tech companies.
The math he laid out should be front-page news.
This is not a technology story. It is a macroeconomic one.
Global wages are fifty trillion dollars. AI will cost around ten percent of that. Europe's share is nine trillion. Which means over one trillion dollars in AI spending over the next five years flowing somewhere.
Europe already sends 250 billion dollars a year to the US in digital services. Every dollar that leaves funds American R&D. None of it comes back.
Mario Draghi's competitiveness report last year made the same point from a different angle. Europe needs eight hundred billion euros in annual investment just to close its existing productivity gap with the US.
AI dependency makes that gap structural. You cannot close a productivity gap when the tool driving productivity is owned by your competitor.
Mensch compared it to gas. The same way Europe discovered too late what energy dependence costs in a crisis, it is standing at the same crossroads with AI right now.
The compute is being allocated today. The chips are being spoken for today.
Europe is watching it happen and calling it a technology debate.
It is not. It is a sovereignty one.

Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani:
“The serious and offensive words of President Trump towards Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni offend all of Italy. For this reason, I have decided to cancel my visit to the United States scheduled for the next 21 and 22 June.”
This is absolute cinema by Italian PM Meloni 🔥
🇺🇸 Trump at 1:00 PM: "She begged me to take a photo with her. She wanted a photo with me so much."
🇮🇹 Meloni at 1:05 PM🔥: "Get lost Lier, your claims are made up. I’m appalled. And it’s not the first time you treat your allies like this
How Shameless is this that you won’t get that tough with America’s enemies."
He needs to remember: Italy and I don’t beg 🔥🔥👏
Iron lady of EUROPE 🔥

BREAKING. All hell breaks loose between Donald Trump and Giorgia Meloni. 🇮🇹 🇺🇸
Trump told La7 tv that apparently “Meloni begged to have a picture with me at the G7, I felt sorry for her”.
Meloni’s scathing response: “I am shocked by Trump’s utterly fabricated words. I am sorry he doesn’t show the same determination against the enemies of the West. And bear in mind: me and Italy never beg”.
What a time to be alive.
Important G7 session on AI.
AI is developing exponentially. It is the most important technology of our time.
It comes with immense potential, but also risks for free, democratic societies.
I believe Europe and the US should work together on AI.
Together, we represent 70% of the world market.
We have complementary strengths, shared security interests, and a common responsibility to lead.
So we should deepen our cooperation.
Invest together.
Accelerate adoption everywhere, from industry to healthcare.
And ensure that the most powerful models are trustworthy and safe.
Today, my wife & I joined Donald Trump’s hit list. He has directed his Department of Justice to investigate us. They have not found a crime - they are simply trying to find one.
He isn't coming after me because of mean tweets, but because I am considering running for President.
He hates that I consistently call him out. He is simply the most corrupt President in American history.
We have nothing to hide.
Mr. President, come after me. I am not going anywhere.
The country is watching.
Mistral AI is preparing to establish a presence in Kyiv to work with Ukraine’s defense technology ecosystem.
A strategy reminiscent of Palantir’s approach, which could give the French startup unique access to battlefield data from the war in Ukraine.
🇫🇷 Fiers d’être Français ! 🇨🇵

🇫🇷 🇺🇸 Big unexpected news: France ends the contract between Palantir and DGSI (domestic intelligence agency).
Palantir will be replaced by ChapsVision. The contract had previously been renewed several times for lack of alternative.
🇩🇪 Germany also moved to ChapsVision earlier this year.
