Saturdays are for self-care. Part of self-care is taking care of your health. Sometimes we don't want to, but our biological being needs the health investment. As a teacher, it may be hard to maintain healthy habits, but trust you and your community will benefit greatly.

SPECIAL ALERT π
When: Thursday 8:28 a EST
What: Discuss history, policy, practices, principles, academia, experiences, and all that other sh*t that impacts the education of Black communities.
Why: We must have a platform For Us, to support Us, that is By Us because we got Us
The only way to see the change you desire is to listen to the experiences of those living it now and seek to be the ally they need in a system meant to have them join the system. As Black educators of Black Kings and Queens, we have the joy and privilege of working together.
The acquisition, retention, and application of knowledge cannot be taken or destroyed. The most radical thing to do is to invest in our skillsets, and continue to advance ourselves and people. We love how our Black community is thriving and sharing their innovation and creativity
School policy is meant to be a baseline for student, faculty, and other stakeholder expectations and outcomes. What happens when these policies are accepted and agreed on and infractions then ensue? What does a consequence or discipline look like?
Critical Race Theory is a hot topic of conversation in American education. Hmm... wonder why? The American education system is predicated on the need to oppress others and control their acquisition of knowledge while shouting how everyone has equal access.
Burnout is real and as much as society loves to paint the picture that teachers are superheroes. You are also superhuman and need to set boundaries for yourself. While we are still learning to set our own boundaries, we believe in cultivating a routine that puts you first.
As we continue to shape the minds of our future doctors, lawyers, and technicians, we must keep in mind that we are only here to expose them to what their potential interests are. It is up to them to pick up their passport and explore knowledge they once didn't know.
Current education does not include the past, present, or future Black voice. The standards and policies perpetuate a eurocentric viewpoint and goal. We salute you, EDUCATOR, for helping them become their best selves. Tag a teacher you want to affirm in supporting our scholars.
Education has its highs and lows and many times educators must be ready at all times for whatever may come. There is something though that keeps us coming day in and day out. What joy do you find in education that keeps you coming back for more? Let us know belowππΎππΏππ½ππΌ
Our tomorrow has to be intentionally planned for and grounded in the work we do today.
