🌍 Stories Beyond the Numbers 🌍
Recently, I joined @PINDFoundation as an enumerator to assess peacebuilding interventions in conflict-hit Niger Delta communities. What I saw went far beyond statistics.
No one truly wants the conflict. They yearn for peace — but dialogue has eroded.
This is why @PINDFoundation’s work matters: collecting data, shaping strategy & lighting a path toward reconciliation. ✊
In the Niger Delta, peace = survival.

@PINDFoundation To make matters worse, they’re locked in conflict with their neighbors.
Ironically, both depend on each other:
➡️ One for garri
➡️ The other for roads & produce transport
Mistrust + bans = crippled economies.
@PINDFoundation The only access road — built & maintained by the people — is now vanishing into the Forcados River. 🌊 Each rainfall erases their effort. Boats are their only fragile lifeline. 🚤
In one community, women farm cassava and process it into tons of garri daily — feeding families & sustaining local markets. Their resilience is inspiring. 💪
But behind this strength lies a harsh reality…

In this week’s #SolJournoChats, we speak with three experts, @iam_fto, @RObasiohia, and @eomoro, solutions journalism who share powerful insights on how newsrooms are adapting to this evolving landscape.
The mission of journalism is more crucial now than ever, and integrating solutions journalism into reporting has been shown to significantly enhance audience engagement.
Today, we resumed our Media and Information Literacy training at Unity Secondary School, Asaba!
Our facilitators introduced students to the concept of media, explained its meaning and helped them understand the different types of information manipulation across social media platforms.
