@StonecoldSxnick I know, right ! The idea that teams don’t pay attention or worry about the ones behind them is just ridiculous. Yes you can only play the game you have that night, but there is no way you are ignoring the other teams.
@StonecoldSxnick Yes. It’s baseball and over 162 there are ups and downs. It was obvious that if they got a little healthier that they have the starting staff to stay in it.
@StonecoldSxnick Agreed. Yes, we would like him to cut down on the strikeouts. Hopefully he can do that next year. But everyone needs to remember he has only been in the major 13 months. So he is way less experienced than say, Vargas.
@tom_paints I feel like the price is for starting pitchers in particular were pretty high. I understand you are in a playoff race, but I’m not willing to jeopardize the future. I understand that prospects are just that until they pan out, but I think he did the right thing.
@ChiSoxFanMike I agree. He may have to wait until after this year to make a major adjustment as he is pretty much a dead pull hitter so harder to make adjustments mid season. I still support him and think he can do it.
If they want to sit him down more sporadically I would be fine with it
@RedbirdsBack I agree that you should not box yourself in by saying that. Particularly with the landscape of college sports constantly changing. What makes more sense now may not have 15 years ago.
@1959Sox@SteveStoned_SOX The prices for some positions, particularly starting pitcher, were really high. Not willing to mortgage the future for that. Agree that the deadline could’ve been better though
@kreyme8 Agreed. It’s an hour or nothing middle of the order and that’s not going to change. I can live with it. Just need to hope that they at least cut it down a little bit with experience.
@RJChicagoSports That part of their game, while it could improve, is never going away. I’ll take it. I would expect Colson and Mune to cut down a little next year but anyone expecting substantial reduction is not being reasonable.
@StonecoldSxnick I would agree with what you said and would prefer to not be in a close race going into the last week. They are going to have to scratch and claw for everything they get. But if they even make it to the postseason, no one should complain at that point
@StonecoldSxnick@HotDogLarry1 That’s probably true. I feel like they have played. It will be 16 straight days after the three games with the Rangers. And when you’re pitching staff is that thin, you have to occasionally find a way to win games and they did that today
