@CotswoldLadyB Wishing you the most wonderful belated birthday wishes Lady B. We are so lucky to have the most incredible person in our lives. Hope you had a beautiful day💐💕
Remembering our precious boy Jango. One year in heaven today. We miss you always.
Forever grateful to Lady B & @The_NFRSA for all of your love for us💜
Welcoming RPD Woody from @gpdogsection who has joined the NFRSA family.
His story:
“Woody is a 5 year old Belgian Malinois who has served as a general purpose and firearms support dog for nearly 4 years with @gwentpolice.
Unfortunately, recently Woody suffered a broken leg whilst chasing a ball on a rest day walk. This required his bone to be fused back together with 13 pins and he was therefore retired on medical grounds.
He has settled in to his new life well, staying with his handler and family.
He really is such a character, quickly making a name for himself as the forces Houdini and escaping every harness/ run/ garden possible.
He is such a lovely boy and has settled into being a pet very quickly. Despite his massive ears, he doesn’t listen to word Mum or Dad say and thinks he now owns the house!”
What a chap! Enjoy your retirement Woody - we’re so sorry your career has been cut short, but we know you would have made an enormous difference as a police dog, and somehow we think that will never change!
We’ll be here if you need us. 💜
Thank you Lady B & all at the NFRSA. 2024 was a difficult year losing Jango and we couldn’t have done it without your love and support. Then for bringing us to our girl Jet, we couldn’t be more grateful🤍
Dearest Jet, you are so special to me, as well as your Mum and Dad. We travelled a sad road together in April this year. The loss of Jango hit us hard. But when you joined the family, you brought great comfort. We LOVE a joyful ending. Happy New Year lovely girl. X
A few weeks ago, Lady B had the privilege of addressing the general meeting of the @AssocPCCs in London.
She explained police dogs on retirement do not receive any formal financial support, and that affordable insurance is a challenge to find.
She asked for their support and to remember their local retired police dog charities, as well as the NFRSA where there is no local support, and perhaps consider making a donation.
We’re delighted to say we have heard today that the PCC for North Wales has made a £2,000 donation to @Paws_Off_Duty who look after retired police dogs from @NWPolice.
We couldn’t be happier to have facilitated this generosity in support of our colleagues.
Thank you to @acdunbobbin for his kindness.
@AssociationRPDs
Working together is so important. It’s all about retired service animals - nothing else.
💜🐾🐴🐾💜
Happy heavenly 11th birthday to our precious brave boy RPD Jango, your 1st birthday in heaven. We miss you more than words can say. Hope you’re having a ball up there🪽🤍
We will never be thankful enough for the outstanding work that Lady B & all at @The_NFRSA have done for us this past year. Being a huge support emotionally, as well as financially, when our boy RPD Jango became tragically unwell and passed away. Congratulations to all🤍
We are incredibly proud to announce a wonderful milestone for the NFRSA.
Since our launch in 2022, we have now given in excess of £100,000 in grants to retired dogs and horses from the police; prison; fire & rescue; border force; NHS; & NCA services.
Thank you to you, our supporters, for helping us to make this happen; the donations, the fundraising, the corporate sponsorship, & everything else in between has enabled us to be there for the extraordinary animals that do so much for us.
We are incredibly grateful to each and every one of you, and we look forward to being there to ‘Protect Our Protectors’ together, for a long time to come.
