After an amazing season, RPM Nautical Foundation offloaded Egadi Rams 26 and 27 to the island of Favignana. Our successful season was due to the continued collaboration between the Soprintendenza del Mare, RPMNF, and SDSS: The Society for Documentation of Submerged Sites!

The recovery of Egadi Ram #27 from the seabed after being underwater for more than 2,000 years! This is the 27th naval ram found at the Battle of the Egadi site, adding more to our understanding of the final naval battle between Rome and Carthage that ended the First Punic War.

Our team continues to 3D scan, weigh, photograph, and evaluate battle damage on the Egadi naval rams housed at the Museum Stabilimento Florio on the island of Favignana.

The careful cataloguing of associated artifacts from the Battle of the Egadi Islands continued yesterday at the Roosevelt Institute. Some of the items being studied include helmets, cheekpieces, coins, and copper spikes.
