Visited with @RPPalmettopro after a game at Palmetto in one of the great pro shops in the world. The genuineness of the culture and hospitality is a tangible reminder to all of us in the business on how much better we can be at this.
Every time I am fortunate enough to come here another layer is exposed. Because of Palmetto's age, history, and design I am fond of saying "Pine Valley is the Palmetta of the Northeast."
This time thru I thought a lot about Tobacco Road and Lookout Mountain. It might seem like a stretch but the greens complexes at Palmetto are mystical on so many levels. The sloping is masked so well and the greens are perfect. When a chip or a putt runs by the hole and off the surface then and only then is the severity of the slope revealed. The way the greens complexes are keyed into the surrounding land the golfer stays tricked on the movement.
Another great experience with my great friend @RobbDillinger. Also a pleasure to meet and carry on with Ellen and John from the UK. Golf is great.
Senior Devereux Milburn in the books. -9 net 2 day total! #golfcoursealwayswins
Big thanks to @StraightDown@AlanHyman for all the help! On to the regular Devereux Milburn Friday and Saturday
Funny story time!!! Most will be told at work but thought I would share this one. I woke up to someone knocking on the hotel door at 1:30. Rodger had locked himself out of the room thinking he was going to the bathroom. I’m sure that was a sight for some security camera 😂😂
Chris won the battle against Kevin and D with 94, 100, and 97 respectively. D made 10 on #16 and the cookie crumbled! Midland was in good shape, especially considering the recent weather. Big thanks to Jeff Peterson for having us out.
