I have started experimenting with active recovery strategies and I have to say - wow, they really allow you to heal faster. Bodyweight exercises are awesome in this regard!
I have genuinely reached a point in leg training, where training quads, especially squats, makes me nervous. A heavy set of squats...man it hits differently than any other exercise. Heavy pullups? Yes. Heavy rows? Yes. Heavy bench? Yes, but heavy squats? Ughhhhh
If I sleep late, the next day is screwed. My training suffers, my mood is crappy, and I'm tired. Optimizing your sleep environment pays dividends in terms of time, emotional and physical health. Also, most of the consumed protein goes to accumulate fat if you're sleep-deprived.
