Rather than telling history through grand events, Dear You (给阿嬷的情书) lets history unfold through ordinary lives.
Letters become lifelines. Family recipes become memories. Waiting becomes an act of love.
It's this deeply human storytelling that made the film resonate with everyone at this community screening in Cangzhou, reminding us that the emotions behind migration, family, and remembrance are universal, no matter where we come from.

In the Nandagang Wetland, the white-naped crane stands as a graceful symbol of winter migration.
With its soft grey plumage, snowy white nape, and the striking red patch around its eyes, this elegant crane moves with a calm dignity that blends seamlessly into the morning mist.
White-naped cranes prefer wide marshlands, shallow lakes, and undisturbed wet meadows. They forage slowly across the mudflats, feeding on roots, tubers, grains, insects, small aquatic animals, and sometimes tender wetland shoots. Known for their gentle temperament and strong pair bonds, they often travel in small family groups, staying alert yet peaceful as they pass through the reeds.
As one of the rare migratory species recorded in Nandagang’s winter bird surveys, the white-naped crane highlights the wetland’s expanding role along the East Asian–Australasian Flyway. In recent monitoring reports, conservationists noted increasing sightings thanks to habitat restoration, improved water networks, and growing reed beds — all of which offer safe resting grounds for this threatened species.
