Thanks to Mrs. Kibler @RRES_STEM for working with our 5th graders to research, design, and build inventions. Our students presented their inventions to a panel of community members in a mini “Shark Tank” format. Students’ inventions and presentations were amazing! #RREinspires
Thank you to the @MHSPioneers students for serving as pen pals to our ESL students. Our students exchanged letters throughout the year and were able to meet their pen pals at Millbrook today. They completed a few activities together and played a game of kickball! #RREinspires
Thanks to the @MHSPioneers Intro to Teaching students for coming over to share a story and complete a couple of activities with our kindergarten classes. The Intro to Teaching students did an awesome job, and we hope to someday see them teaching in our community! #RREinspires
Our 5th graders in Mrs. McHenry’s class were exploring sound through creating instruments. Students had to use their problem solving skills and creativity to design and build instruments that would create different sounds based on the materials they used. #RREinspires
Our ESL students were in an Olympic style competition to see who could complete the most minutes on Imagine Learning. The program is designed to help students increase their English proficiency. Congratulations to our kindergartners for completing the most minutes! #RREinspires
Today we had a kindergarten student who came to school dressed like Mr. Strong. Phaniel sat in the principal's chair for a bit this morning and helped our office staff prepare for the day. Phaniel, you will make a great leader! #RREinspires
Our pre-K students have been studying life cycles and observing how caterpillars change into butterflies over the last couple of weeks. Today they released their butterflies outside and afterwards enjoyed some butterfly snacks in the classroom! #RREinspires
This week some of our 5th graders were working on creating summaries of texts and writing letters to their favorite authors. Students were able to choose how to design their products, and as you can see from the pictures, they were very creative in their thinking. #RREinspires
Thank you to our amazing staff who have shown resilience each day in dealing with the challenges of this year. The collaboration and problem solving that each of them has displayed has helped our students be successful under some of the most difficult circumstances. #RREinspires
To help thank our students for their hard work, we provided every student with a sweet treat today of ice cream or a popsicle. We will continue this treat each Monday for the rest of the year. The students were really excited and grateful to have a treat! #RREinspires
Thank you Millbrook Interact Club students! They provided our first graders with a wonderful apple hunt. Our students were able to find 5 apples filled with candy and prizes and also received a large apple filled with goodies. Our students were super excited! #MHSPioneers
Today our first graders opened up a zoo in each classroom to share what they learned about habitats. Students created dioramas to represent the environment where their animals lived. Students also found three interesting facts about their animal and its habitat.
On Friday and today we had the opportunity to recognize our students for awards for the second quarter. Congratulations to our students who earned perfect attendance, received a Citizenship Award, or earned a Most Improved Award. Thank you for all your hard work. #RREinspires
Mrs. Gordon’s second graders are continuing their investigation of life cycles as part of the science curriculum. Students participate in a hands-on experience to observe how mealworms grow and change over time. Some students are more grateful than others for that opportunity!
As our second grade students are learning about lifecycles, they have the opportunity to make some initial observations about mealworms and will spend the next several weeks observing the mealworm lifecycle. As you can image, the activity is being met with different reactions!
Today one of our 4th grade classes was working on producing a beat and keeping rhythm. A couple of the students had the opportunity to create their own beat and lead the other students to develop rhythm. The students did an amazing job! #RREinspires
