RDO Equipment is expanding its John Deere dealership network with the acquisition of True North Equipment. True North Equipment has eight dealership locations in North Dakota and Minnesota and two support facilities in Grand Forks. True North traces its history to 1897 when the legacy company began selling John Deere plows in Grafton. TNE owners, Dan Gorder, John Oncken and Scott Gorder, cited RDO as a business that shares the same commitment to family ownership. Fargo-based RDO Equipment has more than 85 locations across the United States and partnerships in Africa, Australia, Mexico, and Ukraine. Pending final approval from John Deere, the deal is expected to close on August 3. @TrueNorthEquip @rdoequipment

In the @PioneerSeeds Agronomy Update, Pioneer Strategic Account Manager Cole Erhlin reported that a lot of fields will be sprayed over the next couple of weeks. "We want to make sure that we're using full labeled rates to extend residual control long enough to make it to canopy closure," said Ehrlin. "It's also never too early to plan for next year." With canola expanding its footprint in the region, it is important to keep an eye on rotation restrictions of different herbicides if canola will be in the rotation next year. "Canola specifically is pretty sensitive to different herbicide residuals such as sulfentrazone and Pursuit; it never hurts to double-check before spraying to ensure you can keep your rotation on track for next year.
