It's been a while, but here is a #TidyTuesday contribution. Today I learned how to make bars transparent so that I can see the astronaut🤓 Code here: https://t.co/OzByjhRi72
@Cghlewis @sasha_zabelski A couple ways to do this-- if there are several Qs you need to skip, then put them in a block and work in the survey flow to add display logic to the block of questions. If it's just one or two, I suggest display logic within the Q- will look like this:
@Cghlewis@saraannhart@Poonther Ha Ha! I actually love it. My teen says I'm a slow texter anyway because I only use one thumb. So I agree- calls are faster for lots of things!
I’ve encountered resources lately that are directed to faculty and students only. Just a reminder that there are many non-faculty, support staff that are integral to the successful implementation of research projects who also want to be involved in professional development. 🌟
Sometimes I worry that the data mgmt info I share is too basic. But I continue to see poorly managed data and I'm reminded that many of us aren't taught how to manage data and that while organizing data may seem "basic" in theory, it is actually fairly complicated in practice.
@Cghlewis Oh my. So many favorites here. Not my favorite Tori album, but cornflake girl was definitely on repeat. I probably only actually "owned" a few... most were burned copies!
@Cghlewis That worked!!! yay!!! I'll probably still contact them so they can add that pro tip to the Q page... Some of the crazy workarounds that were suggested are nuts if you can just drag and drop! Thanks!
This one is a new quirk that just stumped me. So even if it's a new question, it's a copy of a survey that once had responses, so #Qualtics says, "Nope"! Have you run into this @Cghlewis ??
@Cghlewis Right...Apparently a known quirk... reading comments dating back to 2018. Not an easy work around that I can find.... sigh-- here goes copy and pasting of 30+ items :(
You may not be the best coder, but don’t lose sight of the main goal: results.
Clean code takes time.
You’ll get better.🧵

@Cghlewis@operantbaby This is actually really helpful as an example though... And really shines a light on some of the friction I experience. Plotting out roles can be SO helpful!
