Coach Freeman spoke very candidly about the demands of a college head coach, & the sacrifices it takes from his family especially his wife Joanna. Lunches at school, and quick office visits from the kids are necessities in order to find the right blend of work and home life.

Freeman also knows he needs to set the example of a “Family man” for his locker room. He doesn’t believe that he can do that through “Rah Rah” speeches. He knows it’s about setting an example that can be seen by each of the young men he has the responsibility of coaching. It’s not a perfect science, but it teaches extremely important lessons.
