Good news, Iowa educators: Dr. Michael Bechtel has received a third round of funding from the governor's STEM Advisory Council for his amazing Ioponics (Iowa Educational Aquaponics) system, which means you have another chance to get this hands-on learning tool in your classroom.
Fourth-year Ella Brase recently presented five hands-on science lessons at the Early Learning Fall Institute in Des Moines.
“The greatest benefit from presenting was the connections I made with other educators,” said Brase, a future educator.

Rory: My teacher was nice.
How so?
Rory: She helped me with crafts when I broke my arm.
Anything else?
Rory: Early recess, early lunch.
Rory learned to read & write last year. Never came up.
I’d be curious to know if there are any elementary schools out there, at all, teaching 45 minutes of social studies every day.
