Our 'Green Car' in Chester to help reduce unnecessary A&E admissions has been recognised at @TheCountessNHS’s Celebration of Achievement Awards.
A physiotherapist joins a paramedic to attend patients who may benefit from help at home following a fall.
Big well done to the team!
Very pleased the Green Car based at Chester won an award this evening at the Countess of Chester Hospital celebration of achievement wards. Great collaboration working in action. Well done to all the team. #NWAS#CountessJewels
What do you do if you don't need an ambulance anymore? 🤔 Tell us! If we don't know we'll send an ambulance to an empty house or someone who doesn't need us. That stops someone else getting an ambulance they do need. Spread the word - it's OK to ring us back to cancel 👍
We would love to have an endless supply of ambulances ready and waiting for each 999 call 🚑 but sadly that’s not the case 🙁 To make sure we get to those most in need ASAP we have to prioritise calls, which means you may be waiting a little longer if it isn't life threatening.
Phew, it's getting hotter! 😅 We know you want to make the most of the sunshine but please avoid midday sun and keep topped up with sunscreen ☀️😎 #Heatwaveuk#MakeTheRightCall

This is what happens to ageing muscles in hospital. A lovely 94 year old man told me the other day that being supported to go home ‘at risk’ in the professionals eyes allowed him to exercise all day rather than the once a day in hospital, not at all at weekends @ECISTNetwork https://t.co/St5Y8UhAkw
@NathanM_OT Very true Nathan. Often find the focus is on the "bed" the patient occupies or family opinions. When appropriate patient choice and wishes need to be at forefront of discharge planning.
