To the Mayor of Leduc,
I'm writing as a resident, hockey parent, former player, life long coach, and someone who is incredibly proud to see one of Leduc's own competing on hockey's biggest stage.
Jordan Martinook grew up in Leduc, played through LMHA and LJAC
it while it's happening! Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Ryan Rechner Leduc Resident, former coach and friend of Marty

the years. I care deeply about hockey And ppl in our community and would volunteer my time and assist with any initiatives that help celebrate this incredible moment.
Jordan's achievement isn't just his own, it's something the entire community can take pride in. Let's celebrate
If there are discussions taking place around recognizing Jordan's accomplishment, I would be happy to help in any way possible. I have coached Jordan during his minor hockey years, he coached @LJACU18AAA with me during Covid NHL shutdown and we have remained close friends over
one of our hometown athletes during a significant moment in his career.
Communities talk about inspiring the next generation. Right now, we have a real-life example of dedication, perseverance, and success that all athletes can look up to, and I think we should be celebrating
NHL and compete for the Stanley Cup.
This feels like a missed opportunity for our city. Whether it's banners, social media recognition, signs around town, a watch party, a feature at the recreation centre, or another form of celebration, I believe Leduc should be rallying behind
Our arenas are filled every week with young athletes dreaming of playing at higher levels. Jordan's story is exactly the kind of success story that should be highlighted. He is living proof that a kid who grew up playing hockey right here in Leduc can make it all the way to the
within our community.
I understand there is a Wall of Fame process, that Jordan will be recognized in the future. However, my concern isn't about a plaque or recognition years from now. it's about celebrating this incredible accomplishment in the moment, creating community spirit.
& has now reached the Stanley Cup Final with the Hurricanes. For a city our size, this is an extraordinary accomplishment and one that very few athletes ever achievement. It’s disappointing there doesn't seem to be any visible recognition or celebration of this achievement
Interesting quote from Taylor Hall today talking about the way the #Canes play. He said when he got traded from Chicago, he wasn't in shape enough to handle the amount of skating. He says Rod Brind'Amour's fitness level sets the example.
@pennypacker_h@scottcwheeler 100 percent agree, no need at all to post a long message sidestepping what happened and describing the players history, just own it, apologize, move on
What a time to be alive. That team was a wagon and so much fun to watch, the vibes in the old barn were wild completely drowning out the air horn haha, add a Bob Cole goal call in the mix Unbelievable….RIP Rexy ❤️
@MarkJCarney@JTreliving Need to start somewhere I guess. But we need more than a political/regulatory agreement, we need a finalized shovel-ready pipeline project plan Mark. What are you doing to get around that meat ball Eby in B.C, the lack of Indigenous support of a pipeline, tanker restrictions etc?
@StanFischler Take your meds Stan…4 GMs and what will soon be the 6th HC during the Mcdavids career and you’re asking for another GM? Enough with blaming everyone but the players, time to create some stability for once, oilers are cooked and their window is closing fast IMO either way.
100 percent an issue if this is true. No one except guys that are in their actually know the truth so who knows. Wouldn’t surprise me if it was the case. Leaders need to serve others and be open to everyone’s thoughts if the culture is solid.
