@NurseStandard Noooo I prefer my dress. As a bigger and curvier girl scrubs are not for me, so uncomfortable and not flattering, my dress gives me good confidence
@NurseStandard No, as a NQN my confidence didnt come until the last few weeks of placement. Students need all them time they can get learning and supernumerary
@NurseStandard I like working three 12hr shifts but it would be better for us to request our preferences (we are only allowed to request 7 shifts or days off in one 4 week rota) I feel we should be able to request more to prevent burnout
My legs are covered in tattoos (20+), I have never received a negative comment, if anything, only nice comments, and majority of the time the start of a lovely conversation.
My tattoos do not change how I care and nurse. I am Rheanna, a person, a character, not just a nurse.
Do tattoos, piercings, or dyed hair make nurses less professional?
Some nurses have found it an issue at work, but many say compliments outweigh negative comments.

'patients aren't dying because nurses are striking.
Nurses are striking because OUR patients are dying'.

If we spent as much time teaching people to interact with autistic children as we do teaching autistic children to interact with others, the world would be a better place #AutismAcceptanceDay
@PUNCAliceStN Plus it’s just a couple of little sprays up each nostril so nothing too scary. And I just use it every time I start to feeling blocking up and it clears me up pretty much instantly
@PUNCAliceStN I’ve got chronic sinusitis and swear by nasal spray Otrivine, but specifically the blocked nose relief. It comepletely clears me up. Doesn’t taste great if it trickles down your throat, but works wonders
@TorbaySDevonNHS when are you going to do something about the massive pot holes on the Cadewell lane entrence?! 🫣Ruining my tires each time I come to work, they are unavoidable! Going to have to stop coming to work soon if not 😅😂
@AspiringNurse22 Is it worth going to your nearest palliative care team, eg rowcroft that will provide hospice care to residents on the EOL pathway in their nursing homes, maybe community matrons too
@PUNCAliceStN @PUNC14@WeStudentNurse @StNurseProject Also, read up on BIPAP, CPAP (NIV) ABG readings, optiflow, oxygen, venturis and COPD. There’s lots more but if you go in knowing something about these topics you’ll pick the rest up.
@PUNCAliceStN @PUNC14@WeStudentNurse @StNurseProject Lung cancer specialist nurses, asthma nurses, copd nurses, VATS surgery (derriford) were also recommend to me
@PUNCAliceStN @PUNC14@WeStudentNurse @StNurseProject Im bias, but respiratory is the best! Critical care outreach is a definite team to spend time with. And oxygen therapy team (Torbay hosp is called THORT) if your trust have one, maybe respiratory community matron
