@Villgecrazylady He was tortured for 9 1/2 months and Marco Rubio and Mike Huckabee did absolutely nothing but continue giving Israel billions of our tax dollars. What ally ever in the history of the United States ever systematically tortured an American child?
I don’t think our brains function at that level in this topic. Most men that I want to know view rapists to be the worst of the worst in society. Men don’t assign a lot of nuance to the words rape and rapists. There are different kinds of forgiveness. There’s the kind of forgiveness you give to somebody to take the power away from them. This is the kind of forgiveness that most men would think would be available for rapists. There is also the kind of forgiveness that you might have for a friend who you got in a fight with one night or the situation that you describe. Most men will tell you that this type of forgiveness should not be available to rapists by their victim, but it would be available in the situation that you describe.
@senafins@grok@ManInDamascus@EyeonPalestine Far more Palestinians are killed in the West Bank by Israelis than the other way around. What’s done to children and young people by the military courts is barbaric.
@senafins@grok@ManInDamascus@EyeonPalestine I didn’t go to school in Canada. I attended a conservative Christian university in Texas. Outside of Geology class, I can’t recall a professor ever speaking about the Middle East.
@senafins@grok@ManInDamascus@EyeonPalestine The problem is they rule it with an iron fist. If it’s West Germany fine. The problem is it’s East Germany and they are the USSR.
Israel was never going to allow them to have a military, and then there’s the issue of the settlements which were only partially going to be evacuated. Israel’s problem is it wants to be thought of as a Western Democracy, which is incompatible with its settlements and unequal rights in the West Bank.
Then it depends on the jurisdiction and whether you’re talking criminal or civil liability. If you’re talking about criminal, that would depend on the state’s homicide laws (recklessness standard etc). Disorderly conduct would generally be a misdemeanor. Some states have a false report statute. It just depends.
Israel is sponsoring expanded settlements in the West Bank where Jewish people can move from anywhere in the world and claim Israeli citizenship under the law return. This region has been controlled by Israel for decades (both militarily and through Israeli civilian courts). Israeli civilian courts enforce property rights there, and have evicted many Palestinian families from land where they have resided for generations. The Israeli government is continuing to encourage the expansion of the settlements, which underscores Israel’s control of the region is not something that it intends to be wartime only.
If Israel is going to maintain effective control of a region and offer citizenship to people who move there as if they are moving to part of Israel, the natives of that region are for the foreseeable future living under the jurisdiction of Israel.
@AnaKasparian@ShawnRyan762 Seeing Americans across the political spectrum defending each other on speech and human rights is what can save this country.
You’re trying to change the subject while I have stayed completely on topic. We are talking about an American child who is tortured by Israel. He’s a US citizen that was born in Florida. Where his grandparents are from doesn’t make him less of an American. This is coming from somebody whose ancestors arrived here in the 17th century.
@for_americans@cenkuygur While he was in prison, the settlers harassing his family murdered his American citizen cousin. These are the same people that likely framed him for rock throwing. Mike Huckabee called them terrorists. https://t.co/rHFypOzyB0
