It's been a busy month for RSPB Stockport Local Group.
*A trip to Casington Water in Derbyshire mid April
*A talk from Chris Galvin entitled "Bee-eaters & Kingfishers: An Introduction to the Birds of Goa"
*An evening walk around Lindow Common, a SSSI, in late April
A successful coach trip to WWT Slimbridge on 9th Feb resulted in sighting over 70 different species.
The next trip is a car trip to the Wirral on Sun 9th March. Check the website for details - all welcome.
What did you record for this years Big Garden Birdwatch? At our pre BGBW walk in Woodbank park on Sun 19th, the group spotted a total of 87 birds including waterfowl, blackbirds, finches, tits, and even a woodpecker!!
Our next talk: 8 April 2024 – ‘Birds, Beasts and Bugs of the Bog’. Alasdair McKee (RSPB and Cumbria WT) will describe the amazing wildlife of Foulshaw Moss peat bog in Cumbria and the importance of the bog itself in the battle to control climate change.
