Our final day. Students were gutted that we were leaving! The day was spent travelling but we got amazing views of the eruption from the ground and air. Thanks to all for an amazing trip. I’ll send a link to parents with all the photos on. @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge
Sunday afternoon was spent whale watching. We saw porpoise, white beaked dolphin, minke whale and a humpback whale! How lucky. We then hung out in Reykjavík for a while before seeing the aurora AGAIN at the hotel! @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge
Sunday was spent visiting Perlan with the interactive exhibits, ice cave and the observation deck. Everyone was moved by the aurora show in the planetarium. We could see the eruption from the viewing deck! @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge
What a day. Humpback whales, glacier hike, black sand beach, spectacular waterfalls, double circular rainbows and Icelandic ice cream. And just when we thought things couldn’t get any better…northern lights outside our hotel! Making memories. @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge
Oh my what a day we had today in Iceland! The weather was brutal at times but added to the experience. Students are getting unforgettable experiences on this trip. After our day out we used the heated pool and sauna in the hotel. @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge
At the end of a brilliant day we walked around the amazing geothermal area by our hotel and visited the local supermarket. Check out the street art! Then it was dinner and early to bed, ready for new adventures tomorrow! @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge
The weather is so changeable here! We saw Iceland (the shop) and went lava tubing in a magical cave. The snowy volcanoes amazed us all. More photos of that amazing cave to come. @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge
What a first day! We are all happy but very tired. The flight was great. Those who sat on the right of the plane saw the erupting volcano! No photo of the actual lava but you can see the eruption site below. Bucket list item ticked for many! @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge
Y7 Open Day! The students loved the activities: Fraction biscuit, STEM building competition and read my mind by our talented math- magician! Parents were keen to hear about our results, additional maths qualifications & enrichment; aswell as our KS3 Mixed attainment provision!!
The Science department had so much fun welcoming families today at our Open Day! Fireballs, flame tests, indicators, chromatography, dissections, party poppers and more. Our students did us proud today. @TheRoyalSchool@BoardingLarge@AminaAhmed25@RSWHouseTeams
Well done to all the students who received their exam results today. There were some outstanding achievements and we are very proud of everyone’s efforts! @TheRoyalSchool
