A federal board has granted a stay blocking a proposed data center near Boulder City from moving forward while it reviews challenges to the project’s federal approval.
The stay pauses plans for an 80-acre parcel of Bureau of Land Management land where developer Townsite Solar 2, LLC, had received a green light to build near Interstate 11 and U.S. Highway 95.
Boulder City, along with the Center for Biological Diversity and the Sierra Club, appealed the BLM’s approval, arguing the agency failed to consult the city or allow adequate public input before signing off on the project.
