Bihar's Credit Deposit Ratio, which had long lagged, has started improving only recently.

Earlier, banks in Bihar were reluctant to lend to small entrepreneurs (MSMEs) and large units alike, thereby hindering both general economic growth and the essential MSME expansion driven by schemes like PMEGP, PMFME, MMUY, etc.

Despite repeated appeals by the govt, banks not only ignored, but, worse, top bank representatives didn't even attend the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) meetings.

One officer in @IndustriesBihar, a Man of Steel, decided not to transact with non-compliant banks. The change was immediate and substantial. This action forced banks to meet their lending targets, with one private bank even achieving a CDR exceeding 90%.

Bihar went from bottom to top in PMEGP implementation in the country.... And it was awarded as the 'Outstanding State' with a #1 ranking for its PMFME scheme implementation.

It's not a lack of talent or hardwork, but rather limited credit access that holds entrepreneurs back in Bihar. Banks that refuse to lend should face severe punitive actions from the state.

Project Clearance Committee (PCC) of #BIADA, on Sep 20, under the chairmanship of Sri Kundan Kumar, Investment Commissioner cum MD, BIADA granted land allotments to 15 industrial units.

These units, spanning sectors such as food processing, general manufacturing and IT/ITeS, will collectively invest ₹323.37 crores and generate 750+ jobs. Among the major investors is Haldiram.
