Hey guys, I'm not gonna lie, I've really been going through a tough time this summer. My dad's been hospitalized for three weeks now, he had an infection that turned to sepsis, which turned into meningitis. It's made him completely change, he can barely talk. It feels like he ages 30 years overnight, he talks and acts almost like he has Alzheimer's. His recovery has been painfully slow. The rest of my family lives in Spain so it's really just me taking care of him and managing his affairs on his behalf. This happened right after a nightmare summer. My childhood friend died of a heart attack at a shockingly young age. My dog died, my roommate's dog that I loved like my own died at a tragically young age, despite everything I did to try and save her, even driving her down to Mexico to get veterinary care she could actually afford. The pipes backed up in my house and we had to clean literal sewage off the floor while dealing with everything else, only to learn that the previous owner of the house I lived in had literally duct taped the plumbing system together. I'm just. Not doing OK.

Sorry for the slow flow of content, I will try to put *some* audios out but I just can't perform like I normally can. The moments where I can normally let my mind wander and create the groundwork for the stories I tell are now consumed by stress and thoughts of dread. My niece (and my dad's first grandchild) was just born, we were supposed to go and see her in Spain in a few weeks but I just don't believe that's possible with how my dad is recovering. He can't even walk right now, or hold a coherent conversation longer than two sentences. I don't want to jinx it but I keep having this terrible feeling that he'll die before he has the chance to meet her. The space where I used to be creative has turned into a very dark place.

Thank you for your continued support, despite everything. Things will get better soon, I just know it. In the meantime, I'm sorry if I'm not as active with content creation, but I hope you understand.
