How to Write a Scholarship Application That Actually Gets Noticed | #FlightPathThursday#RTAG
Don't leave money on the table. Here is how to apply and stand out.
The RTAG scholarship deadline is June 30. If you are a veteran pursuing aviation or aerospace and you have not started your application yet, start today!
We have scholarships for Flight Training and A&Ps and we have some big announcements coming!!
Here is what separates the applications that get noticed from the ones that do not.
Be specific about your goal. Vague answers about wanting to work in aviation do not stand out. Name the career, the certification, the company type you are targeting. Show that you have a plan.
Tell your story honestly. Reviewers read hundreds of applications. The ones that land are the ones that are real. Do not write what you think they want to hear. Write what is true.
Show your commitment with evidence. Have you started your A&P coursework? Are you already building hours? Have you attended RTAG before? What and where have you volunteered? Evidence beats intention every time.
Deadline: June 30. Apply at https://t.co/gWM78KHgzj.

MX Monday | #MXMonday#RTAG
The airlines need thousands of mechanics. The pipeline is veterans like you.
Civilian training programs spend years trying to build what the military hands you on the flight line, hands-on hours, systems depth, and a standard of work that carries directly into commercial aviation.
There is a shortage of Maintainers. The demand is documented. And the veterans who move now are the ones who will benefit!
RTAG 2026, October 17-18, Orlando.

Meet the RTAG Board of Directors
Veteran-run means something here. Meet the board.
Tim Kirschbaum, Jim McClung, Joshua Lee
RTAG is not run by career nonprofit executives. It is run by veterans who love veterans and wanted to build something for the people coming behind them.
The RTAG Board of Directors guides every major decision this organization makes, from how scholarship funds are allocated to which companies are invited onto the convention floor. They hold RTAG accountable to its mission and they do it because they believe in what this organization produces and hold fast to its Core Values.
And as you can tell they also love to have fun!!
This week we are introducing you to the board. Follow along on our platforms this month as we spotlight each member and the story that brought them here.
We will also introduce you to the S.E.R.V.E Values that guide this organization!
Veteran-run. Mission-driven. Built to last.

The Mission Runs on People Like This | Volunteer Spotlight | #WingWednesday#RTAG
Every year RTAG puts 100 Plus companies and thousands of veterans in one room. That does not happen because of a big staff or a massive budget. It happens because people choose to show up and do the work.
This week we are spotlighting one of the volunteers who makes RTAG run. No title. No paycheck. Just a veteran who understands the mission and gives their time to make sure the next generation has the door that was maybe harder for them to find.
Shawn Serle has been volunteering for many years with RTAG and is a complete rockstar! He is our Coordinator for Volunteers and those that have worked alongside him know how amazing he is! We put a lot on him every year with over 400 applicants and 150 volunteers and he steps up year after year with excellence. If you are at the convention and happen to see this guy give him a thank you and a hug!
Thanks for all you do Shawn!

Your Military MX Experience Already Qualifies You for A&P | #MXMonday #RTAG
You've already done the work. Now get the paper.
If you spent time in the military maintaining aircraft, you have already logged thousands of hours that the FAA recognizes toward your A&P certification. The work is done. What is standing between you and the certificate is paperwork, not skill.
Here is what you need to know. The FAA allows military aircraft maintainers to substitute their military experience for the training hour requirements under 14 CFR Part 65. You will still need to pass the written, oral, and practical exams, but the training clock? You have already punched it.
Stop waiting. Pull your military records, document your experience, and start the process.
RTAG can connect you with employers who are actively looking for A&P certified veterans. Get registered at https://t.co/gWM78KHgzj.
