Is Launceston's public transport better or worse today compared to 77 years ago? This thread will look at the level of service, focusing on frequency and coverage, and how it has changed since 1947.

Tasmania is barrelling towards transport chaos over Christmas. The State Govt doesn't even seem to care. They have given up governing. #politas #ausunions https://t.co/9vJYpIhY5D

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

Metro Tas bus drivers in Northern Tasmanian will be stopping work again on Wednesday. This will impact afternoon peak hours service in Launceston. It's time for Eric Abetz to step up and put some money on the table. #politas #bustrike @Examiner https://t.co/vga813wHzp

@VinceRugari Win-win 👍

[Kabby Lee Dancy Company @KLdancecompany]

Weekly reminder that the RTBU is a union that fights hard for its workers rights and fights right by its workers.
Workers rights come first and foremost - who would drive your trams, trains and buses??

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

@VinceRugari PS we’ll all be on the #Socceroos train tomorrow morning!

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

@VinceRugari Actually we’re more focussed on the working conditions of our members, many of whom are serious football fans too.

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

@larper_the The XPT is being replaced, but the replacement trains won’t have sleeper carriages. We’ve been campaigning to get new sleeper carriages built as well.

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

Hard agree 👇 #SaveTheSleepers

[Tas Gunner @GunnerTas]

My policy position is that we should run as many sleeper trains from Sydney-Melbourne as logistically possible.

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

@larper_the Also the law in NSW. In any case, living in another state is no excuse - you still have to abide by the law. Good luck with your argument in court champ. https://t.co/EAucfKrzvx

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

Leo is spot on. Be safe around trams!

[Leo Puglisi @Leo_Puglisi6]

the “karen” is in the right here, the tram’s lights are flashing and the biker should’ve stopped

this is super basic stuff if you live in melbourne

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

@larper_the Mate the road rules are clear. You can make as many excuses as you like, but the law is the law, and if you run over someone while breaking the law then you're in massive trouble. Just stop.

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

@larper_the No, you can't just make up your own set of road rules. If the tram has stopped to let passengers on and off then traffic must stop too. The problem here is the motorcyclist. https://t.co/LZS2SSpa8W.

Eric Abetz has admitted that funding to continue last year's Metro Tas pay rise will be in the state budget, but he now wants to go back in time and re-negotiate it. This is completely unacceptable. It's time to move forward, restore bus services & #FixMetro #politas

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

@VinceRugari Welcome Vince 👍

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

The latest edition of our national magazine, Transport NOW, has just dropped! And it is a beauty ✊

The RTBU National Executive has appointed Alex Claassens as the union's next National Secretary, following the resignation of Mark Diamond. Alex will commence duties as Nat Sec on 29 June. #ausunions #auspol https://t.co/TDbwTq9PEq

We're calling on the government to prioritise the safety and rights of Australian women by boosting funding for Community Legal Centres in the upcoming budget on 14 May.

The level crossing collision at Westbury in Northern Tasmania earlier this week has once again highlighted the need for a zero-tolerance approach to level crossing safety The madness has to stop #politas #ausunions https://t.co/c9suP69wpK

[RTBU @RTBUnion]

The RTBU has reached an in-principle agreement with Keolis Downer Adelaide (KDA). All industrial action has therefore been suspended to allow for a ballot on the proposed EA. #ausunions #sapol https://t.co/zSPFieP639
