And finally, just want to say a big thank you to all the count team and staff at Adamstown Community Centre, all the candidates (successful and unsuccessful) and their families who chatted and posed for pictures, the party people, our media colleagues and the great tally team.
Most of us covering the election had a student journalist with us for the duration
This is my main man @Tom_Healy_, who played an absolute blinder over the course of the weekend. Shot video, gathered news and provided terrific local intel
Might end up being my boss some day!
All seats now filled in Dublin Mid-West
1. Eoin Ó Broin - Sinn Féin
2. Mark Ward - Sinn Féin
3. Emer Higgins - Fine Gael
4. Shane Moynihan- Fianna Fáil
5. Paul Gogarty - Independent
One former Green Party TD will be heading back to Dáil Éireann.
Paul Gogarty’s 6,940 votes cannot be overtaken by Eoin Ó Broin with Emer Higgins’s surplus of 667.
Final count soon will elect Gogarty and almost certainly Shane Moynihan with him.
As flagged, Count 10 saw Soc Dems’ Eoin Ó Broin as the main beneficiary of Gino Kenny’s distribution, taking 1,587 votes to propel him into fourth place behind Shane Moynihan and firmly into the reckoning for a seat.

Another possible story is that Dublin Mid-West may well elect a second Eoin Ó Broin.
Several observers believe he’ll do remarkably well from Gino Kenny’s transfers, possibly propelling him ahead of Paul Gogarty.

Independent councillor Paul Gogarty was the main beneficiary of the distribution of Linda de Courcy’s votes in Count 11.
The former Green Party TD took 1,144 votes, sending him top of the remaining pile.
FG’s Cllr Vicki Casserly has been excluded.

State of play with @ConorWilson here in Dublin Mid-West:
⚪️ Mark Ward takes second seat for SF
⚪️ Gino Kenny loses seat on Count 9
⚪️ Emer Higgins on course to retain seat
⚪️ Shane Moynihan poised to retake seat for FF
⚪️ Paul Gogarty leading chase for 5th seat
Also worth noting - independent councillor Paul Gogarty is taking transfers all around him.
Firmly in the pole position for the fifth seat here and a return to Dáil Éireann very much on the cards for the former Green TD.

Labour’s Francis Timmons excluded on Count 8.
Sinn Féin’s Mark Ward is now within touching distance of retaining his seat, with party sources expecting Timmons’ transfers to put him over the line.
